Happy Holidays from Underberg! (Too Soon?)

Happy Holidays from Underberg! (Too Soon?)

We know the summer just ended, but before you know it, you’re going to start hearing “Jingle Bell Rock” in your nearest grocery store. Even reading this now, you’re probably thinking, “It’s way too soon for this.” Better to be prepared than bewildered when you start getting invites to holiday parties. So with that in mind, now’s as good a time as any to start thinking about getting creative with our festive pairings. Whatever get-togethers you’ve got planned for this year, it’s always a great idea to invite the ‘Berg to the function for 'after a good meal' feeling.

Halloween

The spooky season may be our favorite time of year. The weather is pretty ideal–cool breezes have chilled out the oppressive summer heat, but it’s not bitterly cold just yet. The fridge probably has a few Oktoberfest beers left over from this year’s festivities. Though Oktoberfest ended October 3rd, as long as it’s autumn, in our view it’s still seasonably appropriate to enjoy those delicious beers, sausages and pretzels – paired with a bottle of ‘Berg, of course, to settle that tummy. And who doesn’t love Halloween? Some may be reluctant to lump Halloween in with the other holidays in “the holiday season,” but we feel that it deserves a seat at the table, so to speak. If you, like us, are still a kid at heart, you might indulge in some candy–or a lot of the stuff. If so, it’d be wise to keep the essential digestive on hand to put the belly at ease post-indulgence.

Thanksgiving

Speaking of settling the stomach, you’ll want to stay stocked on your ‘Berg supply in preparation for your Thanksgiving feast this year. While most of us will most likely enjoy the classics, the hits–turkey, stuffing, gravy, etc–if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something a little bit more out of the box but still “Thanksgiving-y,” we recommend checking out our recipe for Rack of Lamb with Bitters, Caramelized Carrots, and Mashed Parsnips. Your taste buds will thank you. And for all the traditionalists out there, you can’t go wrong with our Pumpkin Soup with Caramelized Underberg Onions. You’ll certainly be thankful for these delicious food-‘Berg pairings.

Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa

As you gather with loved ones this holiday season, make sure you feast on the best with those who mean the most. We’d like to offer some food for thought for alternatives on some holiday classics. Maybe you don’t need to have Christmas ham every year. Maybe you need to try our Goose Legs with Mashed Potatoes and Underberg Plums. While your aunt may consider it sacrilege to stray from her perfected latke recipe, keep an open mind and consider our Potato Fritters with Underberg Herb Curd and Salmon as a substitute this Hanukkah. Perhaps our Underberg Chicken Stew with Rice would make a perfect Kwanzaa entrée. And if you’ve still got room for dessert, treat yourself to our Carrot Cake with Underberg Frosting and/or our Chocolate Gingerbread Tart with Caramelized Underberg Oranges.

Cheers!

From the team here at Underberg, we wish you and your families a very happy holiday season. Let’s raise some ‘Berg bottles high and celebrate!
